Banff Public Library is pleased to announce that we are now offering some of our regular in-house services again, by appointment. Appointments can be made Monday through Sunday between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm, excluding stat holidays.
We are offering 45-minute collection browsing and computer/printing sessions, starting on the hour. Exam proctoring services are also available. To book an appointment, please give us a call at 403.762.2661, send us an email, or submit the form below. Members of the same household are welcome to visit the Library together.
Please refrain from visiting the Library if you might be experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, runny nose, sore throat, etc. If you have traveled outside of the country in the last 14 days or have been in close contact with someone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days, you must remain at home and are legally required to isolate.
All library patrons must wear a mask while visiting the Library, and single-use, non-medical masks are available at the front entrance. All library staff will be wearing masks in the public area. Information on the proper use, cleaning, and disposal of non-medical masks can be found on the Alberta Government's website.
Hand sanitizer is available throughout the building, and all high-touch surface areas, such as keyboards, touchscreens, tabletops, countertops, etc., are sanitized on a regular basis.
Library patrons are free to browse the entire collection, and we ask that all items of interest be taken to one of our browsing tables in the main public area. Any items that are not borrowed should be left on the tables for re-shelving.
Twenty-five library items can be borrowed at a time, and our regular loan periods and renewal options apply. All borrowed items will be quarantined for 72 hours upon return.
Our Pick-Up and Home Delivery Services are still available at this time, and we are happy to make recommendations. All libraries in The Regional Automated Consortium (TRAC) have now resumed lending, and patrons can once again place holds on any item in the TRAC catalogue.
Book sale items will not be available for browsing or purchase at this time, and we will not be accepting donations of any items until further notice.
Banff Public Library is committed to providing a safe and welcoming space to our patrons and staff, and we will continue to monitor the COVID-19 updates from the Alberta Government and the Town of Banff to inform our services and procedures.
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we help to maintain the health and wellness of our community, and we look forward to seeing you at the Library again soon!
Please note that as the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, we may need to cancel/postpone our in-house and pick-up and home delivery services without notice.
