Banff Public Library is pleased to offer pick-up and home delivery services within the town of Banff.
Please give us a call at 403.762.2661, send us an email, or complete the form below with your requested items, and we will respond within two business days to arrange a pick-up or drop-off time.
Patrons can borrow up to five library items at a time, and these items can be returned to the Library in our external book drop or exchanged in a subsequent delivery. Loan periods will be set to three weeks upon check-out but may be extended until the Library re-opens, if necessary.
Please note that it is once again possible to place holds and bring items in from other libraries in the Marigold Library System. However, it may take longer than usual to receive a hold as not all libraries are able to share their items at this time. We will respond to all pick-up and home delivery requests in the order that they are received. An item that appears as being "In" in the catalogue may not be available if another patron earlier in the queue has already requested it.
If you are picking up items at the Library, please bring your library card or picture ID with you. We will need to verify your library membership at our front entrance before placing your items outside for pick-up. If you might need a library card, please complete our online Library Membership Registration Form.
Health professionals from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have recently stated that paper-based items, such as books, are not considered to be viable transmission routes for COVID-19. However, they recommend that public libraries take precautionary measures to quarantine recently returned books and other library items such as CDs and DVDs for 24-72 hours. Banff Public Library has been quarantining all returned items for at least five days since closing its doors on March 16 and will continue to follow the CDC's recommendations to quarantine items that circulate as part of our pick-up and home delivery services. All returned items are quarantined before being checked in and will therefore remain on a patron's account until after the five-day period has passed.
Please note: as the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, we may need to cancel/postpone these services without notice.
