In accordance with the latest provincial public health measures, the Library will be temporarily closed to the public as of Wednesday, April 7.
However, we will continue to offer our Pick-Up and Home Delivery Services every day from 10:00am-5:00pm (excluding stat holidays). Please give us a call at 403.762.2661, send us an email, or fill out our online form with your requests. We are happy to make recommendations as well. Our Exam Proctoring and Printing, Copying, and Scanning services are also available.
It is still possible to request items from other public libraries in Alberta using The Regional Automation Consortium (TRAC) catalogue. The province's interlibrary loan system also continues to offer services. If you cannot find an item in the TRAC catalogue, search the Alberta Relais union catalogue, which contains materials from public libraries outside of the TRAC system as well as academic libraries. Please let us know if you might need a hand placing requests in either system.
The Library offers many fantastic digital resources which can be accessed from home, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, newspapers, magazines, movies, music, online courses, school support, and more. If you would like to become a member of the Library in order to access these resources, please complete our Library Membership Application Form and we will email you with a library card number and PIN within 48 hrs. Library membership is free for all residents of the Town of Banff and Improvement District No. 9 (ID9) - the area outside of the Town of Banff but within Banff National Park, including Lake Louise and Saskatchewan River Crossing.
The Library continues to offer some of our regular programs online such as storytimes and crafts for children, a virtual book club, and yoga and meditation classes. Please visit our Events Calendar for more information on how to join us.
Banff Public Library is committed to providing a safe and welcoming space to our patrons and staff and will continue to monitor the updates from the Government of Alberta and the Town of Banff to determine when it is appropriate to resume our regular in-house services.
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we help to ensure the health and wellness of our community, and we hope to see you at the Library again soon!
