We are Hiring: Summer Reading Club Coordinator (Summer Student Position)

Banff Public Library is looking for two summer students to run the TD Summer Reading Club!

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, promote, and deliver the Summer Reading Club 2024
  • Facilitate weekly programs for children ages 4 -12.
  • Gather feedback, statistics and complete a final report at the end of summer.
  • Assist the Programming Library Assistants with events as required.

Eligibility:

Candidates must meet the following criteria: 

  • Between the ages of 16 – 30.
  • have registered as a high school, college, CEGEP or university student.
  • be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada.

This is a temporary full-time position: May 2024 - August 2024

Hours: 35 hours a week Compensation: $20/ hour

We are Hiring: Library of Things Library Assistant

Join the Banff Public Library to manage the popular Library of Things!

Responsibilities:

  • Management of the Library of Things program
  • Provide excellent service to library patrons as a library assistant

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent
  • Experience working with tools is an asset
  • Must be willing to learn about the "Things" in the Library of Things
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to respond flexibly and effectively to a wide variety of public needs and changing circumstances.

Part time OR Full Time: Please indicate your preference in your application.

Compensation: $21/hour (minimum)
